Staff and profiles

Every member of staff working the system needs to be identified. The rules or profiles get allocated to a person and this controls what they can do in the office and on the till.




General Setup

System Manager Some basics settings that the system needs to work , not normally altered by users.

General Maintenance Some basics settings that the user needs to work , normally altered by users such as company name, vat rates , etc


Calendar

Based on the users own financial dates this is setup to their week period and year end, and used a date reference point through out the system.




Services

Alerts When an unattended process like overnight backup , till database build or data transfers these need logging as to whether they were successful or not. This shows this log to the system administrator.

System Transfers Check The delivery of data between multiple branches is important for delivery of new lines and promotions to go on sale. Other data is transferred too, so all transfers are shown as sent and checked on arrival. This way missed transmissions due to broadband down or hardware issues can be spotted and resent.

Xlink A service program with no user required to act as a data delivery person moving data and sales around between sites, servers and tills.

Xervice A service program with no user required to act as a data processor of data received from xlink for updating product data and sales figures.

Postcode CD A service program with no user required to act as a name and address lookup for tills based on postcodes provided by them.


Sales Analysis

The products get split into trade sales groupings for measuring their sales performance whilst reporting on them and also for producing totals at different levels. :- Super Department-Department-Group-Sub Group. This program maintains these levels and their working values like discount allowed.




Locations

The naming of the physical locations and sub locations allowed where stock is held.





Reasons

The naming of the optional reasons available when doing :- Stock adjustments-Price adjustments-Own use adjustments-Wastage adjustments-Till returns-Stock transfers
