The Customer Background
Lintzford was a redevelopment of an old nursery by an experienced garden centre management team that had used epos before.So they decided to set up the computerised proceedures from the start. A large part of the product range is still classic garden centre plants, trees, and shrubs the shopping experience local and friendly.
The Need for Change
The whole of the shop stock and outside plant areas are barcoded for epos and the system produces horticultural labels for use outside. Like all garden centres they need to move the seasonal stock quickly and so use a variety of promotions to ensure older stock gets cleared …
The Solution
The outside areas and goods inwards storage are away from the main sales area and the staff need to be directly involved with products and customers. To overcome the need to be connected by radio handset to do the key tasks of placing orders, goods inwards and counting stock.
