The Customer Background

Shoots Group operate three Garden Centres in the South East, starting with Washington Garden Centre near Horsham which they acquired and rebranded. Then moved on including Gardens etc, Stanmore which was already an Open Retail user. Finally adding Shoot Cobham , which already had an epos system but it was not working well so it was upgraded to the Open Retail system.

Background

The Need for Change

The Washington site was developed to standardised the product range and set a blue print for when further were to be added. The local managers need a system that provides detail information about their own centre. The group need a branch versus branch view and the ability to add branches, transfer stock, and set prices and promotions suitable for each location.

Change

The Solution

The Openxpos stock control system is in use through the group and provides not only sales using touch screen tills but also stock control.

Solution

The Benefits

The regular customers can sign up to a loyalty scheme called friends of shoots and this enables offers and special events to be emailed to them and they can earn points on their visits.

Benefits

The Future

Quite clearly in a multi branch system having a central administration saves each centre replicating the product maintenance function. The availability of stock but sales trends across all centres radicially improves the buying decisions. The stock taking equipment can easily be move around the centres as required.
