FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THE TILLS
It
is all very simple when you know how, but at first there are lots of
questions that come to mind, these are typical ones
HOW DO TOUCH SCREENS WORK ?
The
touch screen is split into buttons and products or further menus are
activated when you press the appropriate button. What products go with
which button is a setup routine.
DO I NEED TO CHANGE MY CREDIT CARD MACHINES ?
You
can stay with bank terminal PDQ machines and just enter the credit card
details into the till, but it is quicker and more accurate to have an
integrated system.
WHAT HAPPENS IF THE POWER GOES OFF , DO I LOOSE ALL MY SALES ?
If
you have a battery called a Un-interruptible Power Supply (UPS) then
the system continues to work. You cannot do much About full blown power
cuts as lights , phones and doors will not work either. When data is
restored and the machines restarted then the tills are accurate up to
the last fully completed sale, so this sale will need restarting. The
master data on the server will be ok and this will have been backed to
another device as well
HOW LONG BEFORE I CAN SEE THE SALES IN THE OFFICE?
The tills deliver the sales for updating every 15 seconds so effectively real time
HOW LONG BE NEW LINES GET INTO THE TILLS?
There is a full update overnight and ongoing changes during the day but only several minutes to arrive.
DO I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT COMPUTERS?
No,
the hard stuff in setting up and maintaining the system is handled by
our installation and support team. It helps if you are computer
literate and one person to act as the working liaison with us over day
to days issues.
